This project was a collaboration with the Drag Ambassadors at Penn State University - a club called PSU Opulence. PSU Opulence’s mission is to create a safe, welcoming, and fun environment for the LGBTQ+ community within Penn State.

My team and I took Opulence’s mission statement to heart and developed a social educational & awareness campaign in State College, Pennsylvania. The campaign invites those in the area to take a closer look and learn about a subculture that might be confusing for those who are unfamiliar.

“The entire concept of drag is to perform, celebrate, and challenge the gender binary.”

Above is a set of 8 posters for downtown State College operating as a key touchpoint for the campaign. These posters invite viewers from across the street to pause and take a closer look. Those who get close will be rewarded with enriching information about what drag is, who PSU Opulence is, why drag is important, as well as a link to social channels.
